Editing project
Aspect ratio
When sharing videos on different platforms, it’s important to consider the dimensions of your footage.
For example, apps that prioritize vertical content, like TikTok or Instagram, perform best with videos formatted in a portrait orientation.
After recording, you have the option to tweak the video’s dimensions before exporting to ensure it fits the platform perfectly.
Adjusting Your Video’s Aspect Ratio
Once your video is open in the editor, look just above the preview window — there, you’ll find settings to modify the aspect ratio.
You can choose from several formats:
-
Auto – keeps the original aspect ratio based on the recording area.
-
Wide – 16:9, perfect for landscape videos.
-
Vertical – 9:16, ideal for mobile-first platforms.
-
Square – 1:1, great for social media posts.
-
Classic – 4:3, a traditional video layout.
-
Tall – 3:4, useful for portrait-style content.
