# Pane Studio Transcript Generation

Pane Studio supports private on-device transcript generation for screen recordings on Windows. Transcription is treated as its own workflow inside the editor instead of a static caption toggle.

## What the feature does

- Set up local AI transcription models
- Choose a model based on speed, accuracy, and local download size
- Use automatic language detection or choose a specific language
- Add transcript notes for speaker names, technical terms, keywords, or project vocabulary
- Generate transcripts from the microphone recording
- Show visible job progress while transcription runs
- Show or hide transcript overlays in the final video
- Adjust transcript overlay size inside the editor

## Why this matters

This is useful for tutorials, training videos, product walkthroughs, onboarding recordings, and support documentation where voice narration also needs text support.
